Hey there,
well my new tank is ready. Looking to add a few more to my family..
I set this up just to get Black Diamonds..
Anyone in the States know were the best place to get them. My local dealer will take care of the transaction of ordering. Just need to know how much and info. send me private email if you are a seller..
Id like two BD.. one female, one male. Age doesnt matter. Like at least 5" disk size though or bigger..
thanks

also, can yall give me an idea of what the average cost of these rays are. (here in the states) Ive never priced them and want to make sure I dont get taken....
thanks

Regular leo's have been 1k-1300 for a least 2 years.. Sometimes you can get them a hair less :) I am sure some was selling for more?

I know of a few BD's that were bought just right around 2kea, some go for more of course. I think Mike had some for sale around $2500

I think regular leos go from 800 to 1500. Don't quote me but I thing you are going to be well into the 2800-3000 range

keep in mind that 1800 probably gets you a small bd as per above at 4-6" max...sometimes markings are not as prominent but as long as they have good parents....and colours are not always black but more light...$1800 for a CB BD is good...

wow... thanks for the info.
If anyone knows a good breeder,, let me know. Im going t osee my guy tomorrow nad see what he has found for me, but would like to make sure I kow what Im getting for that kind of money...
thanks again

I'm not quoting prices for Mike, but in general today you can expect:

$1800 for basic BD/nice Leo
$2000 for a good BD
$2500 for a pretty nice BD
$3500+ for outstanding specimens

Quality/price is generally based on sex, size, amount of spots, size of spots, qty/size of spots around the edge, belly spotting, whiteness of spots, eyes, and captive bred vs. wild caught.

thanks
