Looking for Discus Breeders or wholesale in San Diego.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Depending on where in Oregon you are, I'd recommend a trip to northern seattle to go to Mac's Discus. Great fish, great owner, great prices.

I shipped my discus from discus farms sunrise tropicals, not sure where they are in cali but they are good quality and fair pricing, $25 - $40 a fish without shipping. try doing a google search for em thats how i found em

Thanks everyone for the info...I'll look into it all.

Unfortunately, this will be my last post on these boards so I most likely won't be reading any more of your suggestions. The reason for this is simple...MFK is a great place, but I cannot abide by a board who's moderators are as biased and childish as the ones you fine people are saddled with.

I posted this on your board...

"looking to avoid shipping.

Thank you for replying to the post though....

As for the rest, I gotta tell you that if this is the kinda response a newbie to the boards gets here, I'll be taking my questions back over to A/C."

Now I might have been a bit premature, but I stand by this. I posted the same question on the above mentioned site, and had a few responses within 12 hrs. When I posted it here...it was a full 2 days, and almost all the comments I received were about my post relating to the lack of responses.

Sorry to come off like that, but I was bummed that nobody had anything at all to say about it. I was wrong to say that....All said, I coulda just caught a bit of flack like this..."How fast did AC get that answer for you?" and everything would have been cool. I woulda came back with some snappy comment and all would be forgotten.....

But thats not the way it went down.

"Sorry you feel that way.

Try 411.

A/C's a nice site.

I guess you'll be going back to your location now huh?

Bubbye."

This is from a moderator.
Still pretty cool with it...till I replied basically stating the same thing back at him. Maybe elaborating a bit on the roomyness of it all,:grinno: but in no way any more profane than what he was getting at.

My response....I'm not leaving, my location is correct, get used to seeing me. (I still planned on posting here)

Next day what happens? My posts gone.

The posts by the mod that started it all? Still flying high. Seems to me like someone can't take a bit of heat, and using their moderate amount of power decided to just erase anything that might resemble a response to their flippant comments.

Childish. Lame. Cowardly...And most of all, it goes to show you how socially retarded some of the people running this board really are. Just so you know....In real life, you can't erase what someone says to you to make yourself look better....no matter how hard you try.

Keep up the good work Doc.

I highly doubt this will make it more than a day before being erased....

When this type of post is your second, you should expect to catch some flak.

Sorry you feel this way. :chillpill:

probably so....but to cut me down, and then when I respond, to delete my post is pretty lame.

It reminds me of something my 15 year old brother would do. "I'm so cool, see the way I told that dude!" "what? he responded with something a bit wittier than MY post?....better delete it!"

Leaving his post on the board to make me look stupid is pretty weak.

Just to let you know, Neither Dr. Joe or myself deleted your post. If you would like I can remove the thread entirely.

We here at MFK like to poke and prod for fun, but sometimes it gets taken too far, both by staff and members. I believe that most of the remarks that you took offense to were not meant to do this. The reason AC got back to you faster, is that they have far more members that keep discus, while we do not. If you were asking for a place to get a silver arowana, we'd be all over it. Sorry you had a bad experience, I hope that you choose to rather stick around.

You know what? You're right.

It got a bit blown up, and I'm big enough to admit I was wrong. It just kinda stuck in my craw, and I'm not the type to let it go without jabbing back a few times. I honestly didn't compute the "Monster" in MFK....i.e. big. I get it now... Apologies to all, and wyldfya gets the nelson mandela award for straightening things out. Thanks.

As far as taking down the thread, in my opinion you leave it up. You are in a 1,000,000 posts competition after all, and I'd hate to see your numbers go down due to this little flare-up.
