you can either use one on each side of the divider, or use 1 only and ziptie the divider to the hook. their cheap and work great.

DMopar, your idea is great but the light diffuser won't work with smaller fish. I need the acrylic divider.

Twk, order them online. They cannot cost that much.

and why couldnt you use them with acrylic?:screwy:

I tried to make my own acrylic divider. Everything was working out great until I decided to drill holes into the acrylic. Word of advice for everyone is never ever attempt to drive acrylic without lubing the drill bit with oil.

Oh man.... i should've asked MFK members some questions on drilling acrylic first, because i just cracked a divider... :nilly:
CichlidsGoneWild..... Okay... so what should i use to clean off all the oil on the divider so it would be safe for fish? Or just plain water will do the trick?

I was thinking of using cooking oil since that stuff is bio degradeable and easier to remove than motor oil or other machinery oil. You're lucky u cracked it cuz I shattered mine into pieces. Luckily I had safety goggle on.

Try taping the acrylic with masking tape and using a slower setting. Back the acrylic with plywood/wood so you have a solid backing. Clean off the acrylic shavings after each hole drilled..... the acrylic shouldn't crack and the oil will not necessary. Done it a hundred time.

I have suction cup divider holders.... bought more than I need. If interested PM me, I'll sell the for what I paid.... $2.00 ea plus shipping.

Attempted to redrill at the lowest setting and again I cracked the acrylic. I guess my drill is too manly for the job. I dissed the acrylic idea and decided to do this. This will work for now. You can pick up a 11x14 piece at HomeDept for $3.

Go to menards and buy some plexi glass and a plexi cutter. This is what i use because its clear so its not ugly looking and you will need some sucktion cups to hold it.
