Ive been searching the internet trying to find a good cheap 24/7 aquarium light. What im looking for is a 60" light that can sustain some low light req, plants and, which will be in a discus tank.

But i would also like it to have a built in Moonlight fixture.

If anybody has any recommendations for me it would be helpful. Even if you had two separate units which would work well. I'm just trying to find some good lights that wont brake the bank.

I will be building a canopy for the tank, so im still looking on what i will be putting in it, so that i know how and what to build lol. Remember the key is "CHEAP" and "GOOD QUALITY" :naughty:
Kudos to anyone who helps me. :)

You could get a retrofit kit fro AHsupply (may be 2 x 55W kit) and build it into your canopy (or even get a cheap 48" T5 or T8 fixture from Lowes, replace the bulbs, and build that into the canopy). Then get some lunar lights or even go with DIY moon lighting.

I would say yes, but i need a 60" :( sorry

a 5050 actinic bulb is good but what are you using it for?

nubz, i am using this tank as a planted/discus tank. :headbang2

*EDIT* I forgot to mention that the plants i will have are low light req plants :)
