Looking for help and ideas for stocking a 760 gallon Cichlid tank.

Maybe, what kind of concept you are thinking about is needed? to help narrow the field.
Since there are over 3000 species of cichlids, just saying cichlids generically is a bit vague.
African rift lake?
Soft water Africans?
Malagasy?
New world?
South American?
Centrals?
There are so many scenarios.
Are you at all concerned about geographical correctness, or just variety?
Do you want shoals? wet pets? lots of color? etc etc
There are people here that are biased about Africans, S Americans, Centrals, so opinions vary about best or not.
Also what kind of water comes from your tap?
Hard, and mineral rich? soft and mineral poor? High pH, low pH?
All these factors can help determine what is best for the tank or not, beyond just tank size..

It also matters where the tank is going to be in the house. Will it be a display tank in a prominent part of the house with "oversight" from the significant other... or a fish room tank?

Colorful, active and clean looking beats a tank of rare, obscure brown fish that hide, at least in the entry way to the house. At least according to my wife ;)

Zaire Frontosas, pacuse get as big as tires, red tail catfish, manganese, arowana, Oscars. In my favorite they just got a 4.3 lb goldfish out of a lake in Michigan LOL
