I have a marbled motoro that has lightened up drastically in color, almost whitish. Also I believe there may be blood in the stool.

The only change I have made is I added some sand that was from another tank that I baked at 375 degrees for 90 minutes to sterilize.

I have 2 in this tank. 75 gallons. I do 30% water changes every 3 days. They slowed way down on eating a while back. 1 of the rays has gotten its appetite back, but the one in question is still not eating like it used too. I feed them mysis shrimp and frozen raw shrimp after it is thawed out. I have contemplated trying live black worms to entice the one, but now that I have seen red in the stool I am not sure I want to go that route.

I have been keeping an eye on my water parameters and I am 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite, 20ppm nitrates.

The stool is so small it is hard to get a picture. Just wondered if anyone has seen this before?

Here are before and after pictures of the ray in question.

Maybe just the sand has made him lighten his color. Does he act normal?
Seems to be. I have a retic in another tank that goes from light to dark as well, I know she is healthy though she just gave birth.

This one eats just not much. I was more concerned about seeing red in the stool. Thinking that maybe this one is sick. Really hard to tell what is going on.

Prazi the tank? Increases appetite and could address any worm or parasite issues.
