gl with everything hope you find your pikes. if it were me id stick with one species (you already have others in your other tanks anyway) and get your holy grail pike no sense regrettin your choice when the one you reeeeally wanted comes up 2 months later. if ya want say fires and settle for cobras i dont think you will be quite as happy, prolly still happier than those of us still waitin tho haha

So wait up here , let me get this straight. You are still waiting for a lenticulata miracle to come along?? The fish you have now are gonna be grown by the time you find your 5 lentic juvs. 75$ feeders maybe. Im sorta set on cobras, start with 5 of em (juvs of course) and I also want to throw a lone c. vittata (overgrown bellycrawler) just to make things a little different. Thanks salty....

I don't know the last time you looked at a Crenicichla vittata, but they are nothing like sp. 'bellycrawler'. Much more active and WAY more attractive...;). PLUS...;)...there have been a few very reputable sources that say that Crenicichla vittata is possibly one of the largest Crenicichla...;). Rapps has some right now, they are cheap, and gorgeous. I suggest you go for them....not many people keep them, yet they are a very desireable pike! ;)

As for the stock list....perhaps you should ditch the hait and the terror and go a different direction. They would look great in your 100gal though! lol! So heres a gander at a set up that would look great! :D

5 Crenicichla vittata
5 Caquetaia myersi
5 Hoplarchus psittacus
4 Acarichthys heckeli
your flag tail and disso....yup. That would be a great tank. The only problem might be the heckeli gettin picked on a bit, but for the most part they should be alright. The added bonus is that Rapps has ALL of these fish, the most expensive ones being the Hoplarchus psittacus. If your going to get Hops....make sure they are wild caught. The difference between wild and captive bred is astonding...;). Of course, you'll have to adjust the numbers according to budget...but it would be a very cool lookin tank. The only thing I would change, if anything, would be the type of Crenicichla. The other fish look superb together, and all get relatively large. Can't wait to see it set up though bro! Congrats! :D

Thanks for the suggestions P, but Im sorta set on getting cobras and 1 vitatta. Im over the haitiensis thing, Im gonna try to breed some festae, so I will be having them in another tank. Deadset on the psittacus though,(thanks for giving me the bug, you and scat) as well as the prochilodus. I will check out the others that you suggested, as well as ask my other cichlid bros their opinions. Also I didnt mean that vittata looked anythingn like a bcrawler, they just seem to fill the same niche, just on a larger scale.

Not really the same niche either though, vittata are much more active than you might believe. Getting them and the cobras to go well together though, its a iffy gamble. Might work out better for you if you tried Tapajos Red instead...;).
