this is what is in the tank below them. all these fish used to be in the 90, but these barbs grew so big they had to go from the 65 (underneath) into the 90.
it was too much to keep them plus the redhooks in the 90, so I had to sort of overload the 65 in order to keep everyone.
I am in ontario.
you can see my fishroom (2 tanks not visible on the other side of the door) here:
it seems that all the info I can find on these guys lists the size at about half to one third of length they are now.
In the shot I posted above you can see the larger of the two, who is longer than the tank's width (17 inches of space between the glass on a 90 gallon).
I have a Rena XP3 and an Aquaclear 110 for filtration, I change 35 gallons per week on this tank.
WOW, I really like the look of your barbs. I cant get them in Australia but I have kept and breed Red Fin Cigar Sharks - Leptobarbus hoevenii which are another large barb. Mine are about 70cm and would be similar in temperment and care I suspect.
here in the uk they are known as lemon fin barbs and normally top out at around 18" but as said previously can make 24",awesome looking fish by the way
