Came across this species in a book on Cichlids, they look awesome. Anyone know anything about them and has anyone had any experience in keeping them? Pics would be appreciated. Thanks

Riverine species frm Central America , has been called Chuco "rio Gubo" I think it was bruoght back originaly by Patrick Derham and Jean-Claude Nourisatt . I am not 100% certain on that. Not an easy fish to find , but not impossible . Gets rather large farly peaceful for a fish of its size. You might want to try google, I know Jeff Rapps has had them in the past, ad there are some folks in the OCA that have had them. You may find some floating around that club still

I have a nice F1 pair of them. Not very aggressive at all but can hang with some bigger types. VERY rare. I've been offered some crazy deals for mine. They can get 14-16". Mine are about 9" and 7" currently. I have them housed in a 180 with a pair of T. Coeruleus and a bunch of 2" Bartoni and Tambaque Pantostictus. I don't know of anyone else that has them right now. The ones that were around at the ACA in Sacramento proved to be of inferior blood lines and most have died. If you do a search you should be able to find some pics of mine here or on cichlidae.com.
