Go fishing.
Come to so-cal, and fish Lake Silverwood..LOTS of stripers in there.

Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel did a segment on hybrid stripe bass farming in Southern California....The amazing, or shall I say gross, thing I picked up from the show was fact that Tilapia are being used to filter out the bass waste....Yeah, the same Tilapia we eat from Mr.Chung's supermarket is the same Tilapia eating the bass crap.....

I'm not sure, but isn't gamefish illegal to transport or keep?

Its passable to bring a live well at home and give them some BS that u want the fish to be really fresh when u go home and cook it... Ive seen it work... and i was thinking about it... lol Other way for me to get Those Strip bass is drive 5hours and drive back 600miles for a fish >.<

I live in San Francisco and there are a lot of markets in Chinatown that have many varieties of live fish, amphibians, invertebrates etc... as well as live chickens and other poultry. I believe there was a crackdown on buying animals for pets so everything has to be killed before bringing home.

There is a state minimum size for keeping fished stripers, so you probably should not be making it public that you are going to fish for undersized fish. But I'm not sure what the laws are where you are.
