We want to add the VHO lights from the old tank but they will be too high above the water. I had a friend at work make some boxes to hold the lights closer to the water. I splashed a little paint on them and their ready to go.
It looks like our water is getting cloudier everyday. We can't have that! A great part of the day was spent looking for a solution to this new problem. We settled on a UV filter. It was easy to install (Mike installed it) and it cleared up the water in about five days.
I have a big hole in my wall over the tank where Dan is going to install a door. I put up a sheet of cardboard over the hole to block the light while I wait for Dan. The "Woman of the house" decided to add her two cents worth to this project. I came home from work to find this wrote on my cardboard over the tank on evening.
We still have a lot of work to do but you can see how things look now. We are going to cover the white pipe in the center at the top by gluing on rock or coral with silicone. We will have to move stuff around to find the best spot for each coral. There are still some holes in the wall to be covered. There are some spaces at the top of the wall we will also cover. There is no way to tell you how many tunnels, caves, cracks, and crevices that there are. The tank is filled with hiding places for fish and ledges for placing coral. I will add more pictures as we fine tune our work. We will be adding no small amount of livestock soon. We will not overstock the tank. We would rather go heavy on coral and a little light on fish so they will not be stressed as you so often see.
