Looking For My Monster

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It has been decided that we need a wall around the tank to keep the temperature the same as the house. If the garage temperature and house temperature are not kept the same, then we will have a serious condensation problem. My friend built a tank into a wall of a restaurant. One side to the customers and the other side faced the kitchen. The kitchen was always hotter then the air condition side that the customers were on. The tank had a constant condensation problem. The best way around this problem for us is to build a wall around the tank. We will insulate the wall and use an exterior door. Then we will run heat and air conditioning lines to the room. We went to Lowe’s tonight and got some more 2 x 4’s. We also picked up four rolls of insulation. And to the disbelief of the Lowe’s employee we got all that in my Toyota Echo. We are going to start on the wall tomorrow. I will post pictures of our progress tomorrow night.

Mike showed up at my place today all ready to start building. We moved stuff out of the garage to make some room and set up the tools. We were standing there thinking about where to begin when we looked up and saw dude in the drive way. He was driving home from some errands and thought he would see how things were progressing on the tank. Within fifteen minutes we were all on our way back to Lowe’s to get more stuff. When we returned home, we started putting up the wall.

With the wall half done, dude is ready to cut the stuff faster than it can be put up. (Did you notice his big grin today?) We finished the second wall and have the door all framed in. Tomorrow Dude will show up early with his truck so we can pick up the drywall. We think we can finish the drywall and install the door tomorrow. I will try to update with pictures again tomorrow.

Nice ! Awesome setup and your putting it together with a quickness. Thanks for the update.

I also read some of your Story... Pretty amazing bro.

Thank You “tcarswell” for your comments. We are working hard to finish this project ASAP. There is a lot of work involved and I’m thankful for the help of good friends. As soon as dude is out of bed and calls me, we are going to get drywall. This aquarium project is taking me away from the book I am writing. I would love to finish my autobiography this year. If anyone has not yet looked at that story, let me invite you now. Just click on the link below.
Thanks, Ken

I finally called dude and agreed to meet him at Lowe’s. Mike came in about five minutes after I got there. We waited forever before dude came in telling us he got his truck stuck in the mud at his place. We are happy he was able to get a neighbor to pull him out. We got ten sheets of drywall and screws before heading back to the tank project.
