Looking For My Monster

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The free water I told you about here in Wilmington is high in Phosphate. The first thing I wanted to get running on the tank is a Phosphate reactor. We found a nice one at "Foster & Smith" that will work for about 500 gallons. I think it's all that we will need to get the job done.

One thing that has always bothered me since acquiring this aquarium is that it is very unattractive on the inside. After some discussion it was decided to build rock walls to cover the complete inside of the tank. It would mean a lot of work but would turn this eyesore into something very pleasant. We set out to find a few hundred pounds of suitable rock. We went to LRS (local rock store) that is very near my home to see what we could find.

Oh nice ! Congrats man your almost there. Cant wait to see that happy mandarin :)

We found a type of rock that would work well for us. The problem was that it was a small piece we found on the ground. We could not find any more. We asked the owner who told us that it was not selling and she dumped it on the side of her lot a while ago. It was probably over grown but we could have all there was free for the taking. Tom & I started looking for usable pieces.
