Go for the STI. Great cars to have but a car even better would be a RX-7 if you like imports. RX-7's are just as fast as a Z06 vette or viper rt-10 if you can get the RX-7 over 300 horses. They are so light which makes them take off like rockets and handling is superb on them. I had one with a intercooled turbo with a huge vent system and the car smoked a Z06. Not the new Z06's of course but an older model. The new Z06's are just out of this world.

Rotary engines, for the loss.

An RB26 swapped S14 or S15 would be incredible if you're got the money. Judging by the list of cars above, it might be right up your alley.

20b is just pure insanity!

I picked the STI.

But I would pick a Chevy Colorado.

Aside from the cowl induction hood and colored rims I like it.

I will have a Colorado as my next truck. Already have a lot of plans for it, wont be for some time however : (

Ooops I voted for the impreza. I meant the sti. Definitely a monster right there.

I almost bought a colorado.

then I drove one.

So by track car you mean a fun reliable car you can take to the circuit for a play on the weekend, but still be able to drive nicely on the road?

My vote would be for the S2k. Just make it handle, get some good tyres and brakes and go have fun with it knowing the motor is going to be about as reliable as a performance car can get. There's no point in swapping in a 2jz or rb26 for what you want to do, going fast at the track is about a whole lot more than just power.

What kinda budget are you on, how reliable do you want/need this car to be, and what do you want to achieve with it?
