looking for new substrate..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the gravel i have is lime free and doesnt affect the ph in anyway

the one thats called peace river look close but mine does look a like smother than that

but that stuff says for fish who like sifting through the substrate so it should be fine

t1k do you know the size of the gravel pieces in yours? that one says 1/16-1/8"

any of you have sand and find that a lot of it gets stuck in the filters and makes them stop working or very loud? i had a fluval 404 on a 125 with sand once and it eventually stopped working on me.

This is why i stopped using sand altogether. Try to find rounded pebbles like T1karmann said , or just got barebottom :D But be warned, some ray ppl will discourage you from going barebottom as it is deemed unnatural for rays. ;)

if its a real fine sand then it will get into the filter....the black thai, play sand, and poolfilter sand ispretty good, and keep the tip of the filter a few inches fromt eh bottom and ull be fine!
