looking for pics of crappie in tanks

Crappies can get very large....majority around here are between 9-15"

I've seen em 16" here in west by god, virginia.

This guy was around 16-24" and probably 1-2 lbs. I would say a 180gallon would be the minimum. mine was in a 360.

wow thats a pretty big margain of error expecially when the fish is right in front of you. cant u narrow it down more then 8 inches

Umm. I promise u it isn't 8".... It's a lil smaller than my 24" arowna.. I no longer have the crappie. sold it to a friend for his native tank.

16" and 24" is an 8" difference. You said he was between 16 and 24 inches.

I too was thinking that's a pretty big difference, lol

18 incher was caught on Bantam Lake here in CT.

Like bluegill, there is a lot of variance between populations, little ones are touchy but once they get 5-6" they are pretty hardy.

A 16 to 24 inch crappie? I don't think so? I thought they maxed out at around 10 inches? Or is that just because I'm from Mass?

The one I look after at the state park is at least 12"

biggest crappie ive ever caught was 14"..but populations water codnitons all make this very
