i live in southern california, in san bernardino county. i was wondering if anyone who lived around my area (or new alot about local snakes) could help me find the right snake. im looking for one i can catch, keep, then maybe release after awhile. i just built a cage that measures 40"L x 20"deep x24" tall. and would like to use this as the snakes home. at a local lake (pudding stone or "Frank G. bonelli park") i see, what i call, king rat snakes all the time. im not sure how big they get and i havnt found any info on the web either. but if anyone has any ideas of what snake(s) would be best. id really appreciate your help. and is my tank big enough or should i buy or build a bigger one (i have an 8" alligator lizard in it currently, and am willing to release back to my backyard if it wont be compatable with a snake, wich it probably wont be)...
