Looking for some help about African tigerfish

You need decent flow and a lot of surface agitation, I also keep the temp around 80f, they are from Africa so like it warm IME, they seem a lot happier and more active with it warmer anyway...

No, I meant during transportation. They are stressed while in the bag and need good O2 supply. It couldn't hurt to put the airstone in the tank after you move him in too.
 
OP, please describe your tank setup. Filters, powerheads, bubblers, ect. and what kind of current you have.
 
Are you sure the fish aren't being shocked changing from one water source to another?

I'd make sure PH and hardness (TDS/Conductivity) match up so you can rule that out as a cause.

Something isn't right...... In my experiences it doesn't seem like ATF are all that delicate.

I acclimatised them so the ph was the same as my tank so i dont think its that. I have ordered fish that came from tanks with ph as low as 6.4 and had to adjust them to mine. For instances i bought a armatus and a vatf at the same time and after a month or two the vatf died and i stil have the armatus now.

When i bought the first taft it was placed in a bag as was bought from my LFS and same goes for the second one.

Which is what PH?

PH isn't the important one though. Take a fish from 300 microsiemen water and toss it into 2K. Gaurantee it doesn't adjust well IF it lives. That being said would you have any idea that was what was happening IF it was happening????

IF you really want answers you need to be open minded about some of this stuff, don't be quick to rule something out, like PH was fine cause you acclimatized them..... I doubt the original source water, the water during transit, and your tank PHs are all the same.

When it first happened i did think ph shock or some sort. But because i placed them in a bucket with their own water then added my water gradually to adjust the ph to be the same as mine i thought it couldnt be. I never said that my ph and the water it came in was the same that is why i acclimatized it to adjust to mine.
 
My point was if they are way different all the acclimatizations in the world aren't going to fix the problem.

Some importers use RO water for imports cause the fish simply can't handle being acclimitizated to tap water from their natural water. Sounds to me like you may have the opposite problem where your source water is much softer then the water the fish is used to. I say this cause you're having problems with hard water fish (ATF) and not soft water fish (payara).
