I just purchased a BD hybrid pup I have had it 2 days it's been in the states 3 months. It has a very large indent between its eyes and have been told it's from stress and possible parasites. His appetite is still very strong as of last night. He is eating massivore pellets and frozen. I was told to use prazi for about 3 weeks and that should help him out. One of his eyes didn't fully form and so I figured the indent was just a birth defect. Any other ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated!image.jpeg image.jpeg

It's likely just a birth defect. Be careful with medicine, it could do more harm than good......especially with rays. If u are seeing no ill effects and he is eating good, I'd leave him alone.

ps, disclosure..... I'm not a veterinarian.

That's what I thought to begin with but have been told my many big stingray breeders and keepers it's from stress.

L LNIA13 , if u think it is stress related, then id simply remove the stressor.........but the divet, to me, appears to be too big to be stress related, especially if the ray always had said.

I moved him tanks so he is in a smaller tank and just with a few smaller fish. He has always had a slight indent but not like this that is why I am worried. Just trying to figure everything out never had one like this before.

Feed him 6 times a day if you can. It's weird to see such a large indent but his back end looks fat. Do you have more pics of the tail area? If he's eating I wouldn't treat the water. Sometimes water changes and lights off are better than trying to treat for something they may or may not have.

I can only feed about 3 times a day. Yesterday when I got home gave him crawlers for the first time ended up eating 4 full size crawlers and frozen with pellets. Here are a few more pictures.
