Looking for some help on my sick ray

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When I was looking for rays did a ton of research. That doesn't look normal and from what I've seen online it looks to be more of a defect than stress.

You say it's eating fine and all sorts so most likely if anything he's very little stressed.

The biggest concern is him eating but that's normal so I would just keep water clean and keep an eye out.

Wow.

Sorry Lucas, IF this was the kind of advice I thought you'd get here I wouldn't have wasted your time by telling you to put a post up here.

When I saw that thing at the store I didn't even notice a dent. But hey? Maybe you guys stopped on the way home and hit a "birth defect" drive thru...... lol.

That is interesting. If it is eating well (which it appears to be) and isn't stressed than perhaps it is some form of developmental issue. Could be related to the eye position. Cranial cavity deformed?

Wait... There's a store in this giant cornfield that actually carries rays other than motoros and retics?

Maybe one of the more experienced members would know.

No this was out of state
How far? If I can get a ray like this without having to deal with shipping I'm ready to fill up the gas tank.

can you get a head on shot? It is kind of hard to believe this is due to stress. Especially if the ray is showing no other signs of being stressed.

L LNIA13 , Right away I noticed three things, Eye sunken, forehead sunken (not from eating issue (looks very different) and also the lip is a touch bat, meaning overall its a number of development / birth defects.
Honestly if it's eating and doing ok, let it be and let it grow and see what happens, its a bit more of a risky ray to own and grow out but hey its a good looking ray and hopefully it does really well. Just never know when taking a risk on a ray in that sorta shape. Treating issues that are not there is, well pointless at this point. Wait and see if something actually shows from poop or lack of eating or skin issues and then treat as needed.
