Looking for some help with coralline growth

Im pretty sure coraline algae ranges incolor including green. I'm waiting for coraline growth for the past year and 3 months...I should buy a calcium test kit and stop using purple up lol

Yeah, you should def buy a calcium test kit.. You shouldn't be dosing your tank with it if you can't monitor your levels, IMO..

Out of curiousity when should you start test for calcium? My tank has been up for over amonth now and I've never check calcium.

I tested it before I did my first water change and then like a day after each water change. That way I just had a general idea as to how much Ca the water I was using contained.

Also is thier any benefits of coraline growth or is it just for looks?

Or is this growth also an aid in filteration along with the live rock itself?

Don't quote me directly on this, but from what I gathered, there's really no benefit to have coralline, it's just an indicator that your tank is healthy and doing well.
