i like the Bluetooth capability of the aqua sky. i have one already but i need 2 more 36-48" lights and $400 is a bit more then im willing to go this time. is there any other company other then fluval that offers a Bluetooth controllable light?

I second the beamswork lights. Go with two 36in lights for any tank over 48in as the 72in light sags in the middle. 83A45015-69A3-4CFE-BA19-DF6DB3C1D55E.jpeg

On my 8ft 300 gallon I do use a different fixture (Current USA Satellite +) but I use 2 36" fixtures on it and it works well. I find most light too bright anyway so if there is the ability to turn it down I usually do.

My one gripe would be that if you did two separate Beamsworks you would need two timers, there is no way to link them to one timer. These timers are nice because you can change the intensity of the light and turn them way down. I think I have mine on the garage tanks set on either 3 or 4 out of 10 and they are plenty bright.

Here is an idea of what my garage tanks look like with the Beamsworks turned down. Granted the garage light is on but you can tell the tanks are plenty well lit still.

They make timers with dual outlets if you want to hook up two light fixtures. They come in both mechanical and digital models.

The advantage with the Beamsworks on their light fixture is that they can be turned down in intensity and you can set both the regular daylight and the blue light time. On my Current USA fixtures I could set intensity but then used a regular 110v digital timer for on/off. I added a second set of small cheap lights on a regular 110v plug in digital timer to act like a dusk/dawn effect.
