Need help,
I have Fluval 306 15W power head on my 55g tank. I still can hear the vibration from the filter at night. I tried Fluval 406 20W power head, but it is way too noisy for me. I let it run for 30 mins then took them apart for return.
My tank needs more filtration. I am thinking of Eheim 2217 20W power head. I heard a lot of people said it good, but there are a lot of negative thread about the filter.
I have the tank in my bedroom. I really need something extremely quiet. Have any of you compare Fluval 306 with Eheim 2217 in term of noise level.
Thank you

Never had a Fluval but my Eheim is dead silent.

I have a Fluval 406 and also an Eheim 2073 (G90), you have to put your hand on the Eheim to tell that it's running...can't say that about the Fluval. The Eheim is also easier to maintain in my opinion.

I love my eheim2028 pro II. It's silent when running. I don't know why people on this forums are having so much issues with Eheims canisters. I had my running since 2008 and still run like new. The only complaint is that there service dept is hard to get a hold of if ever needed.

Eheim pro 2 series were great filters...the only trouble I had with them in 10 years was a worn out o ring.

I also love their classic series. What I would avoid are those filters with electronics, unless automatic flow variation is a feature you actually need( such as maybe in a planted aquarium).
