What is a cat that max-out anywhere between 8-14" but has a unique look and that is somewhat active during daylight hours?

I really like Jaguar Cats but I assume they are strictly nocturnal?? Would dithers help?

Tankmates will be based on which catfish(s) I get.

I was kinda thinking 4 linned pimolodus too. As stated, very active and don't get over a foot. I am not sure if they have the unique look your are looking for.

What about a Sun Cat?

what about a Gulper Catfish? They kinda have a unique look into them =] But the only thing is that some tankmates may be restricted to keeping this catfish due to its Large mouth...=[ but they are fun to watch when feeding...you can keep these catfishes together in a group or singly and the tankmates for these guys can vary, like you can add a Jaguar Catfish in with it....so you can see a catfish swimming about during the day and one at night plus you may also like to have a Blue LED light in your tank during nightfall as you can witness their hunting mode at full glance...=] plus it will look great onto your type of setup =] What size tank are planning on using for them all?

I googled all the ones suggested so far. The four-line could be a possibility. I like the Gulpers too, but it REALLY cuts down on tankmates.

think, think, think.......

I have kept several species over the years, just no catfish so all help is appreciated;)

I forget I have a Black Lancer at times, I NEVER see him. I got him a few months ago and all he has done exciting was eat my Acute. Pike, aarrrrrr!!
