I have a 125 gallon with one bichir which I believe is a senegal that I bought from petsmart. I just love him! He's so much fun to watch. He shares the tank with some CA/SA cichlids. Check my signature for stocking. I am aware that my tank will be bordering crowdedness in the months to come and I am prepared to adjust that, but before it's all said and done I would like to add one or two more bichirs to it if possible. I would prefer species that stay around 12-14" if possible. I am a big newb when it comes to bichirs. If anyone can recommend a couple not so huge bichir that would be a good addition and include a pic of each to have a visual I would appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

If you got one from Petsmart its most likely a Sen.
Apart from which bichir to get its up to you! :D
BUT at one point your Cichlids will become a snack for you bichirs, I had a German Ram in my 60G for at least one day until they're tank was up and running and I'll be damned he got eaten...

EDIT: Also I see in your Sig that you have a Pleco with your bichir which generally isn't a good idea since Plecos suck the slime coat off your bichir.

all of the cichlids he has grow large fast, lot different having a midas than a german ram.. lol

I have trouble feeding my Ornate because of how greedy my cichlids are.
I have to feed him with Tongs.
Big CA Cichlids and Ploys are not a good mix!

^ gotta agree with this, i got rid of most of my cichlids for this purpose, only reason i have my turquoise sev still is he doesn't eat silversides

Like already said, out of the cichlids I keep the smallest is around 6"-8" full grown. It'll be awhile before the bichir could eat them. Far as feeding my sen, it's not an issue. I currently feed him shrimp pellets and massivore. There is usually plenty of food for him. Since I am a newb as already stated, what other foods should I feed my senegal?

im sorta a noob when it comes to bichirs but i think delhizis stay moderatly small

I would remove the Texas, GT and the plecos before considering adding more bichirs. Those have been known to bully/suck on bichirs
