Looking to buy a bigger reptile

How about a sulcata tortoise?

They are the third largest species of tortoise in the world, are readily available for around $100, and are basically like reptilian guinea pigs from a dietary standpoint (lots of hay coupled with very little protein & fruits).

Question is does he have a garden?

ya i dont think I have a big enough place for one of those, cant really keep it outside except for the summer. I really like the tegu,

I also say tegu..I've looked into them for a long time(recently got a columbian) and while I don't agree that they have to have insects u could always use the canned kind if u wanted. Just do ALOT of research first..big cage, high humidity, lots of substrate and lots of food.
I also order whole carcass ground meats from hare-today.com which my tegu loves and it makes feeding easy though Argentine b&w tegus also need a lot more fruits/ veggies than Columbians..

i wonder what a bite from one of those would feel like though haha

Well not good I'm sure lol but any large lizard is goin to have the ability to inflict some kind of damage..its a chance u take but i think its worth it :)

That's a bit of an exaggeration imo but like I said they could do damage as any large lizard could..
