Looking to get a Eel but I need help

1. common name is starry night eel, or african slender eel, doubt its a fren...
2. suggests black spotted eel, but ive never seen one with the tt patterning on the side, but the spots look correct.. hybrid maybe?
if you are new to spiney i would suggest the peacock eel, or a trio of circs. stay away from tire tracks, or fire eels as both get very large.

Question, for me to have this eel, I'm going to have to put the guys in my small community tank with them....does anyone know if there will be a problem with this set-up?

the cherry barbs may vanish eventually. not sure if they eat snails. my big black spot eats small feeder goldfish and rosy minnows.
