Question for those expert's, i have a 5inch Convict, 5 inch Tex, 3inch FH, 3 inch SRD,4inch Severum, & 4inch Wolffish. i am wondering if i am going to add a festa (its going to be a female) should she be around the biggest fish'z size or smalest fish'z size in my tank ? Also i was kinda of looking for her to be the most dominant fish in my tank eventually once she is in for a couple of weeks because my Con has bin killing my Tex since i took out my BIG 0'z =(, but yeah any thoughtz, thnx

You would get more people in the South/Central American cichlid forum. Perhaps you could pm a mod to move it.

yeah im kinda new to all this so sry if not posted in the right place

WOW a convict being that mean! My convicts were never that mean! It's kinda hard to say but it would take months to figure out the dominance, if you want your new fish to be dominant then it has to be the Biggest one to over dominant the convict, you'll have most luck with a male but a female could work too.

FHs and a Festae in the same tank... should be interesting. Im all for community tanks as I have one myself but that's not a mix I would try. I've never kept FH's but I have kept Festaes and they are mean bastards. Your con may not back down from a fight and will certainly lose to a larger Festae. I'd keep a very close eye and have provisions ready to move fish at a moments notice. Festaes go from agressive to super aggresive once they hit maturity. Also, look into keeping those FH's with other fish.

First things first, what size aquarium are we talking here? By wolffish do you me dovii? IMO this is just asking for trouble. You like agros i take it but i think you need to do a bit more research into the species. Not meaning to be rude as i am sorta new to these species aswell so im researching the fish to find out which is the right one for me and my aquariums.

agreed, pm a mod to move the thread. but we'll need to know the size of the tank to give you a good answer. festae are usually slow growers and easily one of the most aggressive cichlids but most of the fish you listed are pretty aggressive. did you mean dovii/wolf cichlid instead of wolf fish?

Need tank size. Gonna have to be a big tank at that.....
