they get 8" to 10" some times bigger like my Oscar i was told he would only get 12" hes a monster 3 years old and already 14"

I've thought about that. What is their behavior like?

ropes r lik skinny slo growing bichirs pretty much they do better n groups tho

get any bichirs you like, and don't bother with cichlids, bichirs are better on their own.

Yeah, I've never really been a cichlid guy except for an Oscar here and there and those were rescue buys. I'm going strictly "oddballs" if I can.

ive got six rope fish and there pretty neat fish i havnt had the escaping problem like people seem too have as long as u keep your water condition up i dont think that becomes much of a problem but take the precaution anyways so u dont end up with fish on the floor...there behavior is pretty easy going havnt seen any aggression there in a tank with a ****load of white cloud minnows a couple cory doras ,couple albino sens,,couple glass cat fish ,and havnt had a problem one with any of them going missing or getting beat up..some of them are more active then others some are more nocternal some swim around all day ..just depends i guess...all in all i really enjoy them...
