Hey guys
I just picked two of these little monsters from the LFS. the guy didn't know their names, but said they called them "Lion fish" or something stupid like that. It sure looks awesome.
Does anyone have any idea what it's called and where it's from?
Sorry for the bad pics but my camera DOES suck badly.
It just keeps staring into your eyes when you look at it.

wow, da fish sure looks real koo. reminds me of a bull fish...is that how u call it? it luks like a buffer of some sorts. o, and crazi looking bichir, nice pick up!
 
Looks like a chinese dragon in a way. Sweet polypterus too.
 
My lfs carry them too they are called lion fish there too and they tell me they are brackish water fish. I hear they are like wolf fish.
 
it's about 6cm (2.3 inches), good to know it's brackish. now i can put them in a separate tank.It's pretty laid back and doesn't move much. just keeps staring into your eyes LOL
Will regular aquarium salt do it or do i need to get marine salt for brackish fish?
 
Aquarium salt is pretty much the same as Marine. Marine just has a touch higher level of calcium and other minerals for coral growth.
Anything will do so long as the specific gravity is around 1.015 ish. use a hydrometre to measure this.
