Mine grew to almost 8" but still skinny. Even my 7" sene is much thicker. Was gonna add to my big bichirs as I usually add 8-9 inches but her skinny girth is giving me a second thought that it might get eaten. So I sold it. Gonna get some 9"+ by next year if they are still around. They max out 9-13" but mostly are 9-10". Rarely pass 9" in aquaria. That's why I'm worried about them when they starts breeding this bichirs in mass number in captivity as they gonna get even smaller. But that's good with people who wants to keep a nice lookinh bichirs in a small tank. Bad news for me though as I like to mix bichir species.

Definatly a future Bichir that Honestly could fit in a 20L for a long while....When you say skinny would you equate it to Ropefish skinny?
Regardless it'll work as I've been meaning to change my 75gal up a bit

Almost about the same but a 12" ropefish is still thicker.
 
congrats! one of my favorite bichir, takes a lot of patience and dedication, this is a bichir for the true polypterus fanatic.
