Catch this one once when camping as a boy scout I was walking up a hill towards main camp. I looked down and found a wallet with $100.00 in it. As I was walking further up the hill I saw a troop of boy scouts (not my troop) and asked one is so and so (the name in the wallet) in your troop and the guy yells out "That's me!" I hold up his wallet and say "I found your wallet." He says "My money better be in there!" First off dude hello I'm a boy scout duty, honor, etc. Second if it isn't I didn't take it. I mean what if someone found it before me and took the cash, what was he gonnna start accusing me? He looked in the wallet and said "You're lucky." I just shot him an FU look back and asked "Lucky how tough guy?" He started to say something and I just said "Whatever dude just enjoy your wallet and be gratefull." and walked away. Also when I worked at a grocery store I found a wallet with $300.00 in it and I turned it into my manager. The guy came back for it, gave me $20.00, even if he didn't give me $20.00 I'd've still felt better doing the right thing.

A couple years ago, while I was in a summer sailing program, I was walking along the dock to shore when I saw something green submerged in the shallows. At first I thought it was a couple candy wrappers, but upon closer examination I realized that it was three $20 bills, a $10 bill, and a $1 bill: $71 in total. I left a note up on the message board informing the members of my yacht club that I had found the money. After four weeks with no response, my dad let me keep it.
i found one 20.00 two 100 bills and i found 400.00 and a check for 7500.00 but not all the same day. returned all and got two 50.00 and a 20.00 and a 10.00 for returning the money agin not at the same time tho. and spendt it on fish keepin
I work at a grocery store and I find wallets and purses left in carts all the time. I have found some with over a grand in them before and its so hard not to just go throw it in my car lol. Instead I always just turn it over to one of my managers....They prolly pocket the money.

In that situation, I'd probably have done the same thing. Normally it would be in my pocket though. I don't think I've ever found money knowing who it belonged to though. Found equivalent of 2$ yesterday, brightened up my day. We all have good and bad luck... if you just throw away the good luck, whats the point. Eventually, I'm going to loose some money and not get it back.
