helloooo
i was just wondering if anybody else has lost a fish at one point because it jumped out and still to this day can't find it.
i had a beautiful killifish in my 10 gallon planted tank... one morning he was missing... when i got home from school that day i searched all throughout the tank... around the tank.. behinde.. underneath... I LOOKED EVERYWHERE!!!
this happened about ehh a month ago.. i still cant find him.. im guessing he jumped out where the filter is... there is an opening in the hood.. its a hang-on-back filter
i included a pic of the location of my tank... i look everywhere.. EVERYWHERE.. still cant find him =[
i know this is random but i need to do something to avoid bio hw :p

i do have two dogs
and yes i did check the filter... there is a tiny chance the dog got the fish when it jumped out
because where the opening is in the back.. so the fish went to the back of the tank where my dogs cant get

I had several fathead minnows and they vanished slowly. I never found a trace of them or found any corpses. My guess is that my black moors were eating them, but that is unlikely because they are slow and visually handicapped.

Dog could have eaten it indeed. Does it have any killi-tank mates, or was it a single specimen? ...Eh, you'd find the bones if they ate it's corse...

About a year ago i moved into my new apartment, and had my fish in rubbermaids while i was setting up my tanks.
well i walk past the room where the rubbermaids was located to find my cat sitting by the door fiddling with something. I kneeled down and started talking cute jibberish to my cat, because she looked so sweet just sitting there looking at me.
Then i stood up and walked towards her, to find her munching on my Jack Dempsey :(

sorry to hear the loss
haha.. i have never caught my dogs doing anything bad but crapping all over the house
