1 rhode island red, 1 black langshan, 1 light brahma, 1 white cochin, 1 barred plymouth rock and 2 jersey giants / australorps. I think they are jerseys. I got them as jerseys, but their feet aren't that yellow, but they are big and I asked on a chicken site and a lot of people said they were australorps, but they have yellowish nails, so I think they are jerseys. I entered my chickens into the state fair and I won 6 blue ribbons and 1 red ribbon. Every breed I entered won first place and I entered all of my chickens. The only reason I got a red ribbon was because I entered 2 of the same breed.

Lol I'm not an anthropologist just have a lot of odd interests, I was however thinking of becoming a biologist but I found it would be to expensive to get degrees, I decided t I'm gonna do fork lifting instead, as it would pay for my fish and weapon related hobbies better. So sorry for massive derail of thread
Hello; I did become a biologist sort of ( wound up teaching school). Got the degree anyway. Had to have a job when I got the bachelors as I could not afford to go on to the higher degrees right away. Got married young among other mistakes. Became a fairly decent mechanic on my own and likely would have done better at that. It is my opinion of the last couple decades that a college degree is not worth the cost for many. Too much debt for the salaries available.
As for this thread the material was covered a few weeks ago in very similar detail in a thread by the same OP. In some ways your post about the box turtles has been the more productive portion of the thread. I learned something of interest.

I'm not familiar with ayam cemani, but if your interested in other fowl checkout mandarin ducks and golden pheasants, if u add a bunch of water arum to the edges of yor koi pond it might help the water problem if u add enough.

That's cool carp, do u ever have loss of chickens due to predators?
I haven't lost any chickens to predators. When my chickens were small, I had them inside. I originally had 2 rhode island reds, but they escaped into my mom's bedroom. I think my dog tried to pick one up, to bring it back to where we were keeping it in, but my dog accidentally injured it and it died. Both of the reds were there and my dog was licking the red that was still alive to try to comfort it. I was really sad about it.
