i am sooo sooo sorry for your loss, i cant imagine how bad that feels. My fire eel is dog tame and if i lost him it would be like loosing a dog

I have 3 the same way, and the older they get the cooler they become. I'm so sorry you lost yours. I seal my tank shut and use grate on everything even though my guys are 24-27". Now I will need to weigh down the heavy glass lids as Norbert (my big guy) push it and a light out of the way and jumped out yesterday.

I do hope you can find another one.
