I posted this on the health forum yesterday got no responses thought I try here.

I got 6 baby cichla on 4/11 3 ocell and 3 tems they are all about 2". I have lost 2 ocell. Here are water paras
Ammonia 0 ppm
nitrite 0ppm
nitrate 5 ppm
ph 7.2
water temp 86
grow out tank is a 40 plan on putting them in a 240.
the first one died about after 4 days in the tank. No real signs just found him dead in morning. Last night the other died. He had a very small white fungus on the pec fin and was having a hard time breathing. The others in the tank are starting to show some signs as well. The last ocell has a small white spot on tip of lower jaw not sure if it from running into something in the tank. 2 of the tems eyes look slightly cloudy. The r all eating now. The 2 i lost stopped eating.
I did a 15 percent water change last night. Tank is salted to reccomendations on box from api.
was thinking of using melafix and pimafix?
I am very disappointed with this i have not lost a fish in about 3 years but this is a new direction for me. I have been only keeping fancy goldfish for the past 6 years. They never really had any issues.

That was yesterday's post.
I did another water change of 15% and removed my gravel. I treated with melafix and pimafix.
The reason I removed the gravel was as I was vacuuming I noticed that there were dead guppies stuck in the rocks with white fungus on them. The gravel I used was a little bit larger that I use on my goldfish tank (they like to eat the small ones) and I guess the guppies got stuck in them and died.

thespot on the one that died was very small on pec fin. The one that is still alive has a small white spot on tip of lower jaw. the dead guppies that were in that gravel were covered with white fuzz

Keep the water clean like your doing. ONce you remove the gravel it will make it much easier to keep clean. Id do 25% wc's every 4 days. DOnt add any more meds. Maybe add some aquarium salt at half dose after your next wc if things arent improving.

Get them off live it sounds like ich add salt and bump the temp up. Guppies I found to be the worse live feeder from pet stores they're prone to having some kind of bs disease. Good luck hope your tems make it

I am son damn frustrated!!!!!! They white spot cleared up looked like they all were doing well. Lost another last night and one didnt look to good this morning as I was leaving for work. The one is sitting on the bottom looking like he is have difficulty breathing. I have a bubble wall in the tank. I dont know what to do!! Really was looking forward to keeping cichla. I just about to order a 240 gallon tank (5ftx3ftx2ft) for them. Already have 2 fx5 for it. Maybe I'm not up to it though!!!!

Where did you get them from? Sometimes the source isn't reliable and sells you bad fish. Plus your feeding live guppies, You need to get them on Frozen blood worms or live black worms untill they get a little bit bigger and start to lean them on massivore or carni sticks. You'll be way better off this way instead of live feeder fish. Set your temp to about 84-86 degrees if possible to speed the ick's life cycle up and make sure you have an abundance of water flow breaking the surface for oxygen purposes, you might be able to help the others. But since they don't have white spots judging from your other post then it could be something internal from the live guppies.

Pictures could really help
Good luck

If your leaving dead guppies in the tank your ammonia is going to spike and kill your fish. Decaying fish will spike your water always take them out if their dead.
