Lost 2 baby cichla any pointers to not lose rest???

I found dead guppies in the gravel 5 days ago. Removed all the gravel and all dead that I found. Tank is now bare bottom I did a 10 percent water change that day. Did another 10 percent this morning. I clean anything that is on bottom of tank out each day. Dont really know what else to do.
 
they r in a 40 now was going to get them a 240. I tried bloodworms and blackworms they wont even look at them. They just hide behind and under the piece of driftwood most of the time.
 
I would try aquarisol and fresh water salt. that will always work with my cichlids. If you were closer to FL I would of given you some yellow labs. I have too manny and dont know what to do with them.
 
When I can't get my new fish to eat usually red worms or cut up night crawlers seem to work good.

They Prob had internal parasites. Make sure if you feed them live, that the guppies are healthy and keep up with the water changes.
