One time I had a dream that one of my oscars jumpd out, I woke up to get a glass of water and foud it flopping on the floor!
Not nearly as expensive, but a pet is a pet. luckily I foud im on time

Anyone that has 1600 dollars to spend on a fish ain't taking no real hit in the pocket he got it. But I know what you mean about it'll never be the same.
Sorry about your great loss. Maybe you could talk to the seller of the fish and get a new one for free. He will still have a great profit from this batch of fry.
