About 12 days ago I had 4 baby convicts from my pair. I saved them because they wouldnt survive, being less than 0.25". They then fell out of thier breeding box and to my thought, got eaten. Anyway 12 days later (Yesterday) I just had an instinct to look being my huge corner filter (2000l/ph, 530g/ph) and guess what? I found a baby convict, lots of colour, now its 0.4"!!! Did not even get sucked up. So now I've got it back in a breeding box in my 35G and feeding it well. It eats flakes up to 3x the size of itself.

Also, yesterday my con laid thier 3rd batch of eggs with 3 BN plecs in the tank. Came back this morning and none are gone. If this keeps up for 2 more days, I might have 230+ little fry in a tank full of predators.

Loaches
Tetras
Plecos

Lol, let them become feeders, that's what convicts are best for. ;P Disposable fish cause they breed like rabbits and if you try to save every fry you get, you'll end up with more cons than you want or know what to do with.

gotta save em all!!! :D i could never feed baby cons as feeders... i have a soft side for convicts because they're the first cichlids i ever bred. it's good of you to save the fry
the parent convicts will have no issues with those predators except when night falls.

To my suprise, the plecs dont go anywere near the eggs. There are currently 300 odd wigglers in thier 2nd day of wiggle life. In about 3-4 days, then I'll start seeing some action when the fry go out into the open with lots of mouths.

UPDATE: The convict fry that I had in the breeder cage, the suction cups got lazy and it slid into the tank. Got eaten. Oh well. No biggy.
