Thanks again all for your support.
As far as what went wrong, not too sure about that. NO levels of any amm/nit/nitrates at all. I think they were in the moving totes too long and ox deplecion. Had battery pumps etc, but on the way to the new house, truck broke down and we were roadside for about 3 hours or so. I think this was the biggest issue and then all the sloshing around and drop in temp as well. I tried my best to control everything, but things just were not in my favor .
There temp dropped around 15 degrees, but I dont think that had anything to do with it. When we finnally got here ( new house ) I was forced to speed up the acclimation process and my new water is alot different than the old water. ph is higher microsiemens is alot higher also. I double and triple checked things and tried to be prepared as I possible could, but not enough.
So my aaumption of the losses is too long in totoes, temp drop and major stress all put together and whammo.
Like I said had a great plan, but many things in the plan did not go as planned.
I will not get out of the hobby, hell I work for a distributor, have access to rays daily, just need a break.
Thanks again for your support.
Darin.

I'm so sorry to hear about your rays. I hope you get over this tragedy and get back into rays soon. I'm sure you will raise some more beauties.

Hey all,
Sorry to inform, but all my rays are dead. I recently moved and we prepared many many things for the move, but things went terribly wrong.
Anything and everything that could have went wrong , did.
Lost about $15,000.00 in rays to be exact, the money part of it sucks, but to see all those dead rays was sick and yes I did cry for awhile, these were like my pets and I lost them. They just did not take the move weel and it stressed them. They did not all die at once, but over the coarse of 48 to 72 hours. My water was right and everything was good, but not good enough I guess.
A few of them I am having taxidermed.
I am taking a break from rays for awhile, kept them for almost 18 years, but I need break after this tragic event.
If you ever have to move BIG rays, do so with extreme caution !

Darin.

Wow, I feel really sorry for the Rays and U.
I can't imagine what is going throught your head......money is one thing, the beauty of the rays is another.
However, being live stock, we all got to somehow be prepared for the WORST.

PS: Please post up the finish work of the Taxidermist when its done...Would love to see the finish product.

Take care....
