I ended up putting my 7 1/2 in Grammode male I got from Rapps a 1 1/2 - 2 years ago into my 150g. Everything was going fine for the first two days. I woke up this morning to find that my 4 inch green terror female had killed him.

I would have never expected to have one that would not even defend himself but I guess lesson learned...

I will it's just it takes so long to grow them. Now it just comes down to finding out where to get more to grow out.

Im surprised a grammode succumbed to a gt so much smaller, I would have been worried about the gt if it had been my fish. I guess I learned a lesson too

im sorry man grammodes are some cool fish, and i too am surprised that it got killed but a smaller gt but i guess it happens :/ sorry for your loss

Grammodes are usually more than capable of holding they're own, and you cant make generalizations about GTs like that. I had a GT for a couple years that was eyeballed~ 10" and the only thing he ever attacked was my wife when she'd walk by the tank.

I have had/bred Green Terrors for years. I know their temperament but it was in a 150 gallon tank with lots of cover. The female GT was actually one that I bred and she usually would only defend herself and never went after or singled out a fish. Temperaments of fish can't be determined just based on them as a whole. I have a 10-11 inch Butti who has never harmed a fish but they are known to have really bad attitudes. I am in the process of setting up a fish room so I'll not have this problem again because of the amount of extra tanks I'll have.

But if I am speaking in general Grammodes are known for holding their own with fish much larger than them.
