Lost ten year old goldfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That sucks man sorry to hear that.

Set up a small pond with some plants outside to keep put htem in during the summer, you will get amazing color. I just traded off four that were 6 inches long, they were bought as 1 inch long feeders last summer. They were a dark bright orange. The pond is a 90 gallon plastic insert with lily pads and rushes that is doing so well that it is self supporting with no feeding necessary. I hated to get rid of them but I don't want to set up there winter tank (150 gallon) this year.

Hey Buckdog,

Your testers are alive and well in my son's tank.

Yes!
By the way, rumor has it you're looking at getting those new hoodless cube tanks where the water flows over the sides? I think they would look great in there.

I thought Koi could winter over outside... They just slow down and stop feeding. I read several different books on them, so I have no practical knowledge, but I've been looking at installing a Koi pond for a few years. Do they not survive outside in the winter?

Buck, not meaning to hijack the thread in any way, but I was curious. Sorry to hear about your fish, they sound like they were very dear to you.
