I have a 110 galon with about 150 guppies and i was thinking of putting a pacu in would it eat all the guppies or would it be fine.

are you for serious?

first a Pacu will out grow the 110 in a blink of the eye, then what are you gonna do?

second if you were a pacu in a tank full of food wouldnt you eat it all?

Pacu are naturally mainly herbivores, but they will be omnivorous if forced to...

They eat fruits and plant matter in the Amazon, but if this is not available, then, and only then, will they forced to be omnivorous....

That means if you feed the pacu enough fruits and veggies, then it will not be interested in the guppies...

Pacus are only carnivorous when their owners train them to be.

On a side note, the pacu will outgrow that tank in a year, maybe less.....

I want to reply: "Put the Pacu in and film it", but there doesn't seem to be that option.

i agree..had my pacus in 220gal with many guppies..mostly the male because i needed a place to keep them..they lived fine with my pacu.. but you cannot blame the pacu in small tank with guppies swimming right into their mouth.. but yes i fed my pacu ..pellets,bananas and grapes and veggies and they never bothered any fish with them.

pacu's are like giant tetras. their extremely gentle and peaceful by nature. get one from a juvi, it will learn to live with the tetras and not eat them, counting the pacu has more than enough food.

however as already stated, the pacu will quickly outgrow your tanjk. fed right, and in good water, pacu should grow to OVER TWELVE INCHES long, a good 6-7" tall and easily 1" thick. it may or may not sound like much, but trust me, their true monsters. you will need a larger tank. i have an 8x3 tank, and its still to small for 2 pacu.

what monster would you put in this kind of tank

I here that.

First of all, I believe that fish should not be fed fish. You can sell the guppies tobuy a "monster" fish for your 110G. You can go with Silver Dollars. They look like Pacu ad are vegetairians. A good substitute.
