Do they take any kind of frozen foods?
Yes, the do not get live at all. They get mainly frozen shrimp and fish fillets (all salt water varieties). Bit concerned about continuing this because of Thiaminase. They love shrimp.

You could try a shrimp and pellet puree. Grind the pellets up into small chunks, and blend the shrimp until its a paste. Mix them both together and form it into a flat patty.
Freeze the mix without adding any water. Water will cause it to disintegrate faster once it hits the warm aquarium water. Take the patty out of the freeze and chop it into chunks they can eat.
If you have floating pellets, you can add those to the mix and that should give it some buoyancy.
Start with a mostly shrimp base, so they know its their favorite food but get the taste of the pellets.
When my orinos get full grown, I plan on doing this in ice cube treys with all the good stuff they need to be stunners.
Good luck with pellet training, your collection is beautiful!
Yey, the first pellet puree episode was a success. For the last two days I put in only pellets and the kelberi didn't take any. So by evening today they were pretty hungry I suppose. Made the puree with about 30% massivore and 70% shrimp and they took it all gladly.

Are they still taking the pellet puree, cpm6t?
Yes Chris, They are on it. I switched to the method suggested by Lucas (making gelatine based home made fish food) recently and all the fish are on that now. The mixture has pellets in it too. Of course the totally pellet thing is the most convenient way but cost wise making a mixture at home (with a % massivor in it) would be better for me. I have a total of 14 bass now and you know how they eat. I wish massivore was cheaper. On the other hand when I make fish food at home I know exactly what is going in there too. There are certain types of fish fillets that they don't eat but it is not at issue when I make the puree, I can put in whatever type of fillets I want and they wouldn't really know it.
