Try a PVC cap with one 1/4" hole in it. Is the sound constant or only an occasional gurgle (like every few seconds)

and AK, if you have a loud Durso standpipe, try a bigger hole. When a temporary siphon is created from a sealed system it will be loud as hell.

Like stated Sir-

I dont have a problem where the water goes into the stand pipe-They are 1/2 inch wide open stand pipes..I dont have a cap on mine at all....

I had to rip the baffles(or whatever they are called) from the top of my overflow-(you know the piece of glass that actually makes the overflow)..So now my water just goes right over this piece of glass----

But my problem being is that I need to have a constant sypply of feeder for this tank-With them baffles gone-The fish goes right ovr this and is now trapped in my overflow----

When ever I try to put something back on to solve this problem---It's like my flow is too much and pushed the water through the baffles with too much force...Causeing for a very loud overflow.....

Got ne suggestion on how to fix this----My overflow piece of glass is half inch-Trying to find something to work in my area is a nightmare....

Mine used to do this, too. I put ball valves on the bottom of the pipe (where the tank drains into the sump). With these valves, you can adjust the water level in the overflows. You need to keep it(the level) where the standpipe can't suck air. That is what causes the noise.
