Slurping sound is usually from the drain exit being to far below water level in sump causing back pressure that stops the air coming out, I just raised the drain level and put more coarse foam underneath it ..

hope that helps :)

The drain exits into the top of the sump (above the sump water level), so I'm clear there, but I think the loop is creating the same back-pressure problem.

Oh yeh, you may have to ajust the air hole at the top of the standpipe also or restrict flow into sum if that dosen't work

I'm saving that until I'm sure its not the hose...

try putting a some sort of media in the pipe or tubbing that leads to the sump between the ovwerflow box.
this helps slow thw water down and not bubble so hard when water goes down the bubbles echoing is usually what makes the noise...i crammed bioballs in mine

I'd like to avoid that since it will eventually clog and slow down the drain...

o yea if u shorten the intake hose it might haelp even more.

Its a fixed length, so I might try hard pipe if I cant just adjust it...

Honestly, I would start with the loop and go from there.

Yeah, I messed with it some, but I think I might know the trick now... Just wish I was gonna be home tonight to play with it...

Did you sort this problem buddy?

I've played with its some, and got the flush to happen less, but I haven't had real chunks of time to dedicate to it tho, so its still there.

Yeah... thats alot more work than a durso... and I think my problem is the actual drain line, not the durso. It drains quiet for a while then suddenly flushes.

do you have a hole drilled in the top of the cap

Yup.

I'm thinking of plumbing it with PVC but using 45*s to keep everything angled and allow the air to escape.
