whats your lowest stand?? from what i have heard my 90 is two heavy to put it where i want on the stand i want to. so i was thinking il just make an 8 foot wide stand to double the area for the weight to be on. i like to sit on the floor and im not that tall (5 foot 8) so i was thinking of making a low stand like 18 inches because then i could sit on the floor and and still see in the tank and i could still stand over the tank and look in when i have the canopy open.

I've seen some pretty low stands before. There's this place that I go to once in a blue moon that have stands that are maybe 20" tall.
I've got several 2" off the floor and up to 7'.
As long as your not using canister filters, you could put it directly on the floor if you want to.

Just make sure that the fish you put in there dont get scared that easy, or just put it in an area where people dont walk through that much. Thats the only disadvantage from low stands thats why i make mine 40in tall.

Hes got a point, the shorter the stand the stronger it is because its closer to the ground making less force on the stand due to gravity.
you could build a stand at any heith you want, that will not affect the strenght of the stand, or if you want it on the floor place it on a sheet of plywood and carpet the plywood so that its not ugly.
