Lowest price for a zebra pleco

At the 2010 Catfish Convention, one breeder was selling regular 1" fry for $150, but snubnose/bulldog 1" fry for $75. Now that people tend to think that snubnose is caused by the environment, and not genetics, I wonder if the price for snubnose fry will be higher, if not very similar as regular fry.

When they first hit the markets back in the '80s, you could buy them at an lfs for $29.99.

The $60 price I was referring to was back as late as 2000-2001. Back then they were still being exported. It's amazing how the hobby changes. I watched fish and reptile markets completely change.

Back when I was 17, I worked at PetCo. We actually got blue eyed plecs in one day. $25 was the price. They sat there for like 6 weeks. We also got 4-5" royals in listed for $29. Now that's a little on the high side.

Reptiles (for those familiar), day geckos all over the expos. Now since the ban in Madagascar, nada. Crested's sold for like $400 back then as well. Now they go for $40

I remember that! I was broke, and $35.00 felt pricey. Kicking myself now!
