LowIsuzu's DIY 5x2x2 Tank Stand (Pic Heavy)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for your kind comments.

Here is the finished Product. The Sealer is just drying now, then the tank goes on top for a test fill, and i might even cycle the tank down here, then take the whole setup up into the house where it will live permanently.

Looks very good, job well done...

NICE

Constructive criticism....
I, Myself would have had the wood grain on the doors all go up & down, (maybe even all side to side, but all the same way).. Generally the grain should go with the length of the segment.

Now praise...
Its very nice, sturdy, clean lines etc. Excellent job skirting the way you did. :)

I cant believe you pulled that off...
I can't get the hardware stores to cut exact lengths. They will only do approximate cuts, so the measurements you give them better have a bit extra; & they charge 50 cents for each cut over 1 per board.

dont think that i am taking the critisism badly or anything, but im not sure what u mean, are u talking the front of the cabinet vs the side of the cabinet? because the front, the grain is all going horizontal, even the doors.
the left side, with the 4th door, its grain is going vertical, thats the only thing i can think your talkin about.

Thanks for your praise, thanks to everyone who has made comments. :grinno:

i have filled tank with water tonight, and am trying to get my overflow working. :( ugh this **** just aint happening, i had my overflow working the other day when i was testing, but no go tonight. (its a pvc pipe diy overflow btw)

i will take a couple pics soon.

Some more pics for those who are interested.

Still not really sure how efficient my overflow is, dont think it is flowing nearly enough to have the 5x per hour turnover i am after.

does this look normal? or should the water be sitting at a lower level? or does it all depend on how quickly i am pumping water into the tank?
