Yea, I remember seeing a few weeks ago a having 6-2 record ranked at ~7th place but another team 8-0 ranked ~ 20th place. I was like what the hell?
Just looked at it right now Houston is 12-0 but ranked 10th place... meanwhile 2nd through 9th place have all lost a game. Arkansas is ranked 3rd with 2 losses
The 8-0 team plays in a chump conference. Make that team play an SEC schedule and it wouldn't even get enough wins to be ranked.
Even if LSU is beat by UGA, LSU will be in the NC game. They have more then proven their resume by beating THREE top three teams in the Nation. That is a statement if I say so my self.
i agree that if LSU falls, they should still play for the national title. they have the second strongest case for playing in the title game in that scenario (only behind alabama if that were to happen). i don't think extra games should count for the rankings period but i know they factor into the human element (worth a third of the bcs rankings).
i also think USC should be able to play in their conference title game. the postseason ban should only include bowl games. Oregon vs USC rematch would've been amazing this week after USC beat Oregon by 3 two weeks ago. instead we get Oregon vs UCLA (5-5 in conference) who just lost to USC (8-2 in conference) 50 to 0! Seriously WTF.

LSU LSU LSU LSU, they should be geogia, but if georgia's defense steps up to how well there offense is doing it will be a hell of a game. And yes USC is clearly the best in their conference it's a shame they can't show there dominance.
USC is not the best team in the conference.....they took 2 conference losses for goodness sake. Oregon is clearly the best team in the conference followed by Stanford. however, you and i agree that USC would probably stack up against other top teams in other conference better then oregon and Stanford.
eh, they could revert back to the rules from last year, team with the top record goes to the rose bowl in the scenario that SC won
Let's go, Georgia. If GA beats LSU, BSU should play LSU in a bowl since BSU beat GA
